PLANT WIZARD JOINS SIGNATURE LANDSCAPES

Brian Dean, who has been in the landscape industry forever, (well, isnt since 1977
almost forever?) has joined Signature Landscapes as their resident Plant Wizard. With
background in training that gives him a broad range of experience and expertise in the
Horticultural aspects of landscaping, he will utilize his talents as an in-house consultant
for Signatures clients. He will be in charge of design work for enhancements,
troubleshooting challenging pest and disease conditions on clients properties, as well as
enhancing the training programs for the companys employees.
Brian will add his talents to the horticultural talents of partner Rick Clark and the design
artistry of Lebo Newman, another partner in Signature. Deans education includes two
B.S. degrees in Plant Sciences, and 3 years of study in Landscape Design from
Colorado State University (its not UNR but we wont hold it against him). Having done
expert witness consulting for Insurance companies, lawyers, and the State Contractors
License Board, well prepares him for the fun work of solving clients difficult problems.
He served as Director of Arboriculture and Research for the Nitro-Green Corp.,
Landscape Consultant with the John E. Bryan Inc. in Sausalito, CA. and has been the
manager for several local Lawn and Tree care companies, including Lawn Magic and
Nitro-Green.
He has a list of licenses as long as his sleeve (up the proverbial wazoo) past and current
include ISA Certified Arborist, Nevada State Pesticide License, California Pest Control
Advisor License and Pest Control License, Colorado Certified Pesticide Applicator
License, and U of N certified landscape management technician. He served as President
of the Nevada Landscape Association in 1995, and has served on MANY industry
association Boards and Advisory committees. One of his achievements is being the
author of a tree manual used by more than 45 tree and lawn care companies.
On top of all of that, he is an excellent artist and can do personal portraits on commission.
He is a true renaissance man.
Quite the talented gentleman, we think that you will enjoy his addition to our staff at
Signature Landscapes! We like him and are sure you will too. (Even though he is going
to have a head too big to get through the door after reading this press release!)
